Mr. Wenye (Wilson) Tan is a founding member of Anova Law Group. Mr. Tan practices many aspects of IP laws, including litigation, prosecution, opinions, licensing, and due diligence, in a wide spectrum of technology areas covering computer hardware and software, semiconductors, computer networking, telecommunications, wireless technologies, cryptography, signal processing, optics and laser technologies, instruments, and Internet, e-commerce, and business methods, etc.
Mr. Tan’s patent practice focuses on patent litigation and strategies, patent prosecutions, post-grant procedures including inter partes review (IPR), post-grant review (PGR), ex parte reexamination, and patent reissues. Through these practices, Mr. Tan helped many clients to establish, manage, and profit from their corporate patent portfolios and to defend against patent infringement allegations, and to safe-guard clients’ innovative technologies and expanding into global marketplace. Over the years, Mr. Tan litigated numerous patent and other related IP cases, without losing a single case due to adverse verdict, and managed prosecution of thousands of patents and patent applications. Mr. Tan’s former and current clients including both leading global companies and small-medium companies in US and China.
Mr. Tan also developed great expertise dealing with international IP matters, such as litigation involving foreign corporations, global patent prosecution, cross-border technology transfer, over-sea IP assets acquisition, and global litigation coordination, especially those between the U.S. and China.
Before founding ANOVA Law Group, Mr. Tan concentrated on patent prosecution, portfolio management, and IP litigation as an IP attorney in the IP law firm Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, and gained significant expertise in providing high quality IP legal services, including patent litigations in U.S. federal courts and in the International Trade Committee (ITC).
Prior to starting his legal practice, Mr. Tan enjoyed a very successful career in the high-technology industry, with over 10 years of experience in corporate R&D and technical management associated with microelectronics, computer, networking, and wireless communication, and gained extensive skills in solving complex technical/business problems during life-cycle product development in Fortune 100 companies as well as startup companies.
